botfilter

Privacy

The Botfilter extension collects no data. It has no accounts, analytics, or servers.

  • Text on the web pages you visit is scored by a model bundled with the extension, on your device. It is never sent anywhere. Text you are typing in a form or editor is never scored.
  • The extension stores your settings, your “Not AI” corrections, and recent scores in your browser’s extension storage. If you use browser sync, your browser may copy the settings to your other signed-in browsers; page text and scores are never synced. Scores expire after 30 days.
  • It runs on every website by default. You can turn it off for any site from the extension’s toolbar button, or everywhere in its options.
  • Uninstalling the extension deletes everything it stored.

This website

botfilter.io counts anonymous visits with PostHog, so we can see which pages people read. The extension sends nothing to PostHog or anywhere else.

  • PostHog sets no cookies, stores nothing in your browser, and keeps no profile of you. To count unique visitors, PostHog derives an identifier from your IP address and browser that changes every day.
  • It records the page address with only bounded campaign tags retained, the site that linked you here, your browser, operating system, language, time zone, and screen size, an approximate location based on your IP address, how fast the page loaded, and when you left it.
  • If the site’s own code fails in your browser or on our server, it sends an error report with email addresses, query strings, and access tokens removed.
  • Selected links record a fixed label or destination hostname. It records no keystrokes or screen recordings.
  • If your browser sends Do Not Track, nothing is recorded.
  • The site asks account.hraness.com whether your region requires consent before analytics can start. That request sends no cookies and nothing about you except what any web request carries, such as your IP address. Analytics starts before acceptance only when the check confirms consent is not required. Otherwise it waits for you to accept the notice. If you accept, your browser remembers that in local storage.
